Sedation
IV Sedation
During IV (intravenous) Sedation, patients will receive medicine directly into their blood stream. Sedation begins immediately, and the patient will remain conscious but deeply relaxed during treatment. One of the main benefits of IV Sedation is that the level of sedation can be adjusted during the procedure. Our anesthesiologist monitors each treatment session to ensure that he or she remains comfortable and receives the proper amount of sedation.
Sometimes undergoing dental procedures can be difficult to all patients. We see a lot of patients that need sedation for a variety of reasons such as:
- Fear and anxiety
- Inability to get anesthetized 'numb'
- Severe gag reflex
- Medically compromised patients
